How to Live Stream UFC 280: Oliviera vs. Makhachev for Under $20
Fans in Japan can buy a premium UFC Fight Pass subscription for under $20 a month (based on the latest conversions from JPY), which includes all the PPV main cards. So all you need is a subscription to the Japanese UFC Fight Pass to get a great deal on UFC 280. But accessing the Japanese UFC Fight Pass website is not straightforward. This is because websites, such as UFC Fight Pass, check your IP address to find out where you are located. If you do not have a Japanese IP address, you will receive an error message or be redirected to a different version of the page. Here’s where a VPN comes in. You can use it to get a Japanese IP address, making it seem like you are in the country. With a VPN, you can go to the Japanese UFC Fight Pass website and watch UFC 280 for under $20. It is a great way to save money on subscriptions, not to mention hefty PPV fees! We’ve put together an easy guide to setting up a VPN and watching UFC 280 at a huge discount. Check it out below:
Step-by-step guide: Watch UFC 280 Oliviera vs. Makhachev at a huge discount
Where Can I Watch UFC 280 Oliviera vs. Makhachev?
Plenty of broadcasters and streaming services around the world carry UFC events. We’ve put together a list of channels and streams that carry UFC events below. If you have a subscription to any of these providers, you can simply match the VPN server to the country to access your account and watch UFC 280. Note: It may not be easy to set up a new account with some of these providers with just a VPN. Furthermore, your home payment method may not work.
Where Can I Watch the UFC 280 for Free?
Unfortunately, there is no official way to watch UFC 280 or other UFC pay-per-view events for free. Unofficial sports streaming sites usually have live streams, but since the content is often hosted by third-party domains, you can never be sure where it’s coming from. Furthermore, unofficial sites may carry some security risks. Many sites have invasive pop-up trackers, redirects to suspicious landing pages, or can be easily monitored by hackers and other snoops. When exploring potentially unsecured sites, we recommend using a VPN to protect your security and privacy. A good VPN encrypts your internet traffic and obscures your true location. This keeps your internet activity protected, from your internet service provider (ISP) to malicious hackers.
Can I Use a Free VPN to Watch UFC 280?
We do not recommend using a free VPN to stream UFC 280. Free VPNs have a number of shortcomings which could result in a less-than-ideal viewing experience. Simply put, they are not a great fit for streaming UFC or other live sports. Here are a few reasons why:
Limited server options: Most free VPNs have very few server options, or their servers may be based in a single country or region. You may find that the free VPN does not even have a server in Japan, which means you won’t be able to get the deal you’re looking for to watch UFC 280. Overcoming the UFC’s VPN blocks: Even if your free VPN has a server in Japan, it is unlikely to overcome the UFC’s VPN block. The website is notorious for detecting VPN servers and even blocks access to several premium VPNs which have excellent obfuscated servers. We found that only ExpressVPN was able to access the Japanese UFC Fight Pass without any trouble. Privacy and security concerns: Unfortunately, some free VPNs have questionable privacy practices, such as maintaining user activity logs. They may also lack appropriate security features such as advanced encryption protocols.
Free VPNs can be helpful if you need to use public Wi-Fi in airports, hotels, or cafes. They’re also excellent for protecting your day-to-day browsing. While they’re not suited for streaming, you can still check out our list of the best free VPNs for when you’re in these situations.
UFC 280 Odds: What to Expect
There is palpable excitement surrounding the UFC 280 main event, with each fight better than the next. The main event is the first time two fighters with a 10-fight (or more) active win streak face each other. Long-time fans of the sport will agree that Charles “Do Bronx” Oliviera has transformed into one of the most exciting and complete fighters on the UFC roster. He’s on an 11-fight win streak, where he finished all but one of his opponents. Oliviera is known for his relentless pressure on the feet and his terrifying BJJ skillset. However, the former champ finds himself as a (+155) underdog against Islam Makhachev. Makhachev is a disciple of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov and appears to possess the same unstoppable grappling skills. Makhachev (-180) is also a threat on his feet, with four KO/TKO finishes. The co-main event promises to be a high-energy event between two of the best fighters in the bantamweight division. Aljamain Sterling (-170) will be looking to put on another strong performance against former two-time champion Dillashaw. The funkmaster is a strong wrestler and is an ever-present submission threat with his slick movement. At his peak, T.J. Dillashaw (+145) was considered to be the best fighter ever in the division. He will be looking to regain the title after his infamous 2-year doping ban. As an NCAA Division I wrestler, Dillashaw will have faith in his own ability to nullify Sterling’s grappling threat. Petr “No Mercy” Yan is a heavy favorite (-305) heading into his bout with the popular “Sugar” Sean O’Malley (+255). Many were shocked when the fight was first announced, believing Yan to be a considerable step up in competition for O’Malley. However, both fighters are confident in their ability to pull out the win. Dariush (+165) vs. Gamrot (-195), and Chookagian (+155) vs. Fiorot (-180) are significant fights in their respective divisions, and the winners will expect to be next in line for title shots.
